Despite looking violent and intimidating, orcs are actually generally civilized. Their strong points are their strength and endurance, though on average orcs aren't that magically inclined, despite having the affinity for it.
It is said that orcs are closely related to elves.
Orcs can survive harsh environments. Tribes of them can be found in swamps, mountains, badlands and wastelands, though they do prefer more lush environments just as much as most races do.
Orcs are generally bulky. On average they're only slightly taller than humans, but most of the time they don't stand out too much. Their skin tone ranges from a darkish gray to pale green. Completely green orcs are rare, though they aren't much better than other orcs. Orcs of these colors are more often treated as trophies rather than assets.
Their faces are more rectangular than most other races, and it's rare to see any other shape. Their noses are often flat and big, though smaller noses can be found. They have a slight underbite, and the fangs on their lower jaw suggests that in the past, orcs or their ancestors might have had tusks instead.
Even though most agree that orcs aren't the most beautiful, it is generally accepted that orcs more often than not can be considered attractive. It's not uncommon to see orcs as sex workers or even sex slaves, as they're pretty popular. There have also been numerous cases of nobles marrying an orc.
Orcs are one of the few intelligent races that can reproduce outside their race group and have fertile offspring. Not only that, there are even a select few monster and beast species that result in fertile offspring, though these unions are considered a huge taboo. Examples of such a union are the docile orcs.
Even though elves and orcs seem to be of the same ancestor, there doesn't seem to be a direct relation between the two races. Neither is the other's subspecies.
